Avast ultimate is a security software with a high detection rate and amazing extra features. Its malware scan scored 100 percent in my tests. Also, its web security blocked phishing websites that were able to slip past Chrome’s and Firefox’s default security. Other features include the Rescue Disk, a secure browser for online shopping and banking, as well as advanced tracker blocking, and a VPN.
The interface for users of the suite is simple. The main screen displays a list of its key tools, and includes clear icons that describe their functions. Avast uses an orange blue, and white color scheme that is appealing to the eye and easy to read.
There are detailed controls for each tool within the Explore menu. These include custom scans, boot time scanning, and an automatic updater. You can also save a particular type of scan to the “Scan Center” so that you can run it at a later time.
One of the most advanced features, Avast’s antivirus can prevent ransomware attacks by securing your system for suspicious activity and encryption of any files that may have been targeted. It is able to detect a trojan horse (a malicious program that slips into your computer disguised as legitimate software) and stop it from running on your system.
Avast offers 24/7 phone, email and live chat support. The free versions of Avast are backed by a vast community of experts and a knowledge base. Paid plans offer advanced features, such as identity protection, USB protection, patch management, and an unlimited VPN.
