Practical Learning

From birth to age six children take the first steps in a lifelong learning journey. At Two Trees our programs are designed to speed children on their way by designing, studying, supporting and scaling up programs that enhance childcare readiness and success.

Music & Movement

Music enhances fine motor skills, or the ability to use small, acute muscle movements to write, use a computer and perform other physical tasks. At our Centre we incorporate music and movement in our programs from a very young age including our Infants program.

Regular Events

We hosts regular events like parent appreciation day, graduation ceremony, Zoo to You, Fire Fighters Day, Holiday Heroes campaign, winter holiday concert etc. where the children gets the opportunity to share their learning with their parents and guardians and learn from our community partners.

My son went in Sep for preschool. It was a very hard transition for him and Ms Asheley and Ms Selena made it easier for him. He soon adjusted it and does not want to go home when I picked him up. He still got a bit sad on and off after a month when going in and I understand it’s always hard. Ms Asheley always gives the warmest welcome and he did not have any tears and have her big hug. She is his favourite teacher. Also Vicky is very professional in every way, gives quick update on the apps and sending out reminders. I really appreciate the cares my son has been receiving so far from two trees and words cannot express how thankful we are as a family to be part of it.

What does a typical day look like?

A typical day includes:

Play-based exploration and learning activities
Transitional activities (circle time, music, storytelling)
Group play and outdoor time on the playground
Freshly prepared meals made on-site and quiet time as required

Each day is structured, but flexible enough to follow the child’s natural rhythm.

How do you support independence?

We encourage independence by providing a prepared environment with child-sized materials that are autodidactic, allowing children to explore, problem-solve, and master skills at their own pace. We also work with York Region Early Interventionists to support each child’s individual development and needs.

How Do You Support Positive Behaviour and Guidance?

We use a respectful, guidance-based approach to support children’s growth. Educators help children:

Understand and navigate emotions
Resolve conflicts constructively
Develop self-regulation and problem-solving skills
Learn everyday life skills and positive social behaviours through play and interactions

The goal is to teach and support, not control.

What qualifications do your educators have?

Our faculty are Early Childhood Educators registered with the college of ECE’s and Early Childhood Assistants. We prioritize ongoing training to ensure we provide the highest quality care and learning environment.

How do you communicate with parents?

We primarily communicate with parents through the Brightwheel app, where families can receive updates and messages directly from the centre. Phone calls and email are also available when needed
